Aestiva 8 is a wonderful new range of sheer items from Omero. They are made with an ultra sheer 8 denier satin matte fabric that is invisible, but also quite lush, and still colours the leg for a tanned effect. That is, if you go for the tan shades, as they also have black for those who don't want to fly under the radar with their leg wear. These are the hold up version of Aestiva, and they feature a triple silicone band that is both versatile and very feminine.

These come up a bit short. Actually, after unpacking, I was pretty sure, these are not going to fit. They just didn't seem to have enough stretch in them. After some consideration, I decided to try them anyway.

Tip: in cases like these it might help to first wet hosiery. The water softens the fibers and also works as a lubricant, allowing the fibers to more easily move past each other, allowing more stretch. Squeeze dry before putting them on. Towel-dry afterwards and the rest of the moisture will evaporate within a few minutes (the lace-top might take just a little longer).

After the initial doubts these impressed me more than I expected. Due to them being a bit on the short side, they felt slightly tighter than other hosiery, but it wasn't too much, so it didn't bother me. Despite them coming up short, they stayed up all day without any problems.

I also like the way the fabric looks, though of course that is very personal, and is not necessarily the main criteria. Combined with the simple but pretty decent lace-top, they give a good impression, one which is definitely suitable for everyday use, and which will also boost your confidence level.

All-in-all a good performance-to-price ratio, considering these are not as expensive as most other hosiery.

As for price, remember, you get what you pay for. This is true in general but especially for hosiery. In fact, just never try any of the "cheap" supermarket ones. In my humble opinion they are the main cause hosiery nowadays suffers from this "yuck" image, which is in fact totally unnecessary. I wish more people would understand this, and invest just that little bit more. Good hosiery only seems expensive to the uninitiated. Once you understand this, you will never go back to the "cheap" supermarket ones.

This doesn't mean that expensive hosiery is always better. This is more or less rather a "one-way street": cheap hosiery will almost always be bad, but more expensive hosiery is not always good. This partly also depends on taste, obviously. And of course exceptions confirm the rule.

In summary, this is a decent pair of hold-ups, suitable for those who are either a bit on the short side, or don't mind a slightly tighter fitting. It is definitely a pair for everyday use.

Recommended, but keep in mind they come up a bit short, so when in doubt buy the larger size.

P.S.: unfortunately currently only the shorter sizes are available, which is a pity. Let's hope they will not be discontinued forever.
