Jonathan Aston's collection has been one full of classics this season, but sometimes you have do more than just reproduce classics and go where your creativity takes you. This is what Pintuck is for this collection, a truly creative new design that looks thoroughly modern with a distinctive futuristic bent to it. But it is not entirely abstract, having a certain classicism to it all of its own. It seems to have a naval flavour to it also, with the cuffs at the bottom of the legs looking a little like the sleeves of an admiral or the hips resembling a shoulder epaulette of the same uniform. This is a great way to bring the classic and the futuristic together for something new and original.
