They sit just under the bust, and are held in place by an elastic welt. They have firm control on the tummy, hips and waist along with a compression band which nips in the waist, thus defining your silhouette. Bought these for a wedding. The quality is good and they no doubt do the job, but I found them very difficult to get on. Not suitable for me.
