Paris-Madrid-Milan: Top Best Hosiery Moments of AW1617 Catwalks
With the Fashion Week Season finished, it’s time to put together all the best hosiery moments of AW1617 for those of you who share our passion for hosiery or simply need some extra inspiration before shopping your outfits. We have put all together in this post the most remarkable legwear looks of Paris, Milan and Madrid fashion weeks, many of which are ready-to-wear in Spring.
Our Season’s Favourite Trend: The Black Dotty Tights
Spotted: Alexis Mabille & Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini. We are huge fans of the black dotty tights. We love them so much we have had to bring some of our best-seller polka dot tights back to stock: Oroblu Adelle Tights (£10.99).
The Must-Have Silver Lurex Tights:
Spotted: Esther Noriega (Madrid Fashion Week). Do you fancy silver lurex tights? We love them! Spanish desginer Esther Noriega went for Cecilia de Rafael Viena Lurex Tights (£15.99) to finish this look at Madrid Fashion Week AW1617. Perfect Ready-to-Wear look for Spring!
Fishnets Everywhere! Fishnets for Everyone!
We’ve seen fishnet tights at New York and London Fashion Week. Fishnets in 2016 are everywhere and Milan, Paris and Madrid aren’t an exception. The list of designers is long: Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini (in Wolford TwentiesFishnet Tights, as the ones in the picture above), Koché, Max Mara, Zuhair Murad, Just Cavalli, Moschino, Giamba and Isabel Marant, amongst others.
Diamond Tights: A Must-Wear Pattern for AW1617
Prada goes for opaque diamond patterned tights, while Emanuel Ungaro goes for a sheer version, more fishnet-inspired. 90’s are back to Fashion, but still, 70’s prints are hot in Autumn Winter 2016-17.
The Ultimate Elegance of Black Sheer Tights
When we talk about elegance, nothing beats a nice pair of black sheer tights, as seen in The 2nd Skin (Madrid) and Saint Laurent (Paris) shows.
Wolford Blair Tights: As Seen In Paris AW1617
Longchamp AW1617 at Paris Fashion Week AW1617, featuring the Wolford Blair Tights.
Lovely Coloured Tights Also for the Coldest Weather
Gucci, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Gucci, Tsumori Chisato, Gucci, Gucci, Ulises Merida & Moncler Gamme Rouge
Spotted at the catwalk: Cecilia de Rafael Uppsala Opaque Tights
Ulises Merida (Madrid Fashion Week) chose Cecilia de Rafael Uppsala Opaque Tights to pair two of his designs for AW1617. How shiny are these 150 denier tights!
Plenty of Socks for Any Style!
We had suspected socks were going to be a top trend in 2016, but we had no idea we would see so many socks at the catwalks. These are only a little part of what we have spotted at Madrid, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks. For more socks inspiration, check out our London Fashion Week socks edit.
Prettily Printed and Beautifully Printed Tights to Rock AW16!
Ulises Merida, Roland Mouret, Acne Studios, Moschino, Andrew Majtenyi, Roland Mouret, DSquared2 & Marco de Vincenzo. All of them are crazy for a beautiful pair of printed, patterned and even embellished tights. Then you’re going to love AW1617 Hosiery collections! We’ll be telling more soon, but now it’s your turn to speak out.
Do you like wearing printed tights, patterned tights and even beautifully embellished tights? What’s your favourite hosiery moment of AW1617 catwalks?

I’m loving the hosiery on show on the catwalks in your article, both the tights and socks look great.
It would be nice to see more designers incorporating tights into their menswear, we did see it a bit a short while ago but it seems to have declined recently which is a shame.
My personal favourites shown in the photos are the diamond tights with the red and white detail and the shiny red 150D tights, I would love a pair of each – hint, hint.
The lurex tights would certainly attract some attention, especially if worn by me, mind you, a flash of sparkly ankle under trousers……..

Hi Dave,
Yes, it’s a shame men’s tights are only on the fashion catwalks from time to time. We’d like to see more, too! The shiny red tights are absolutely gorgeous. If you like wearing coloured tights, their amatista tone is just spectacular, too! https://www.uktights.com/product/2450/cecilia-de-rafael-uppsala-opaque-tights
I’ve a pair of Wolford Stardust Tights and agree with you: They catch everyone’s attention, but they worth every look https://www.uktights.com/product/4754/wolford-stardust-tights
Actually we’ve been told that these lurex tights have been so popular they’ll continue to manufacture them next season, which is great news!
Thanks for your comment!
