London Fashion Week 2015: Best Hosiery Styles for AW15-16
London Fashion Week 2015 has come to an end. Luckily, fashion designers have gone for hosiery to style their designs. Vintage styles and modernity have merged together in LFW 2015 and, as a result, very different legwear styles have been spotted. Here you have UK Tights’ list of Best Hosiery Styles of London Fashion Week for Autumn Winter 2015-16:
Back to the Essentials: The Black Sheer Tights
Michael Van der Han dressed all his models in black sheer tights. Demasi London also chose sheer tights for the catwalk. Maybe it’s too early to say, but we’ve noticed most black tights in the shows were matt, rather than shiny. Does it mean that black matt tights are going to be hot next season? We think so!
Minimal Patterns
Giles went for black dotty tights, one of this season’s top trends. Besides, an exquisite ribbed pattern was featured in the fashion show of Ethilogie by Jasper Garvida.
The Timeless Black Fishnets
More original were the fishnet tights chosen by Vivienne Westwood Red Label, who also included some over the knee socks in her catwalk. Hence… the next trend.
From the Over the Knee Boots, to the Over the Knee Socks
Vivienne Westwood Red Label wasn’t the only Fashion designer moving from over the knee boots to over the knee socks, Paul Costelloe also chose black opaque over the knees. He paired them with ankle boots.
The Vintage Socks party
Le Kilt represents this fashion trend with black classic socks. The back to the ankle high and knee high socks brings a modern twist: socks colour-matching your outfits, such as Anya Hidmarch (in blue) Jean Pierre (in grey) and Simone Rocha (in an ankle high version in beige and black). Roksanda went for some original bi-coloured ankle socks.
Cosy Coloured Socks
Good news for all those of you who never seem to have warm feet in Winter: Super cosy socks are a top trend for Autumn Winter 2015! Joseph goes for more traditional colours, but other designers go for coloured cosy socks. This is the case of Sibling (pink and orange socks) and Teatum Jones (blue and yellow socks). These last ones remind us to the Trasparenze Cinzia Opaque knee Highs.
London Fashion Week 2015 has been a great inspiration for fans of hosiery. So, we feel there’s much more to say about LFW. Please, keep coming! Next week we’ll talk about the Big Legwear Trend of London Fashion Week 2015. Can you guess what’s this huge trend for AW1516?
